Brand Identity Design for Wonderland Night Club.
Wonderland is a “Disco” inspired three storey Night Club in Cape Town, South Africa. The Visual Identity aims to capture and exhibit the essence of late 70s & early 80s music, pop culture & design aesthetics. The square block pattern is mostly inspired by late 70s graphic design found in many popular poster designs, book covers and album covers. Going forward the pattern provides building blocks for future marketing i.e weekly & monthly event posters and announcements – Thus allowing the Graphic Identity to evolve and change its appearance based on the party / season etc. I wanted to create something playful, sexy, soulful & nostalgic whiles remaining modern and contemporary.
Always evolving, seducing and surprising the audience. The hypnotic power, influence & evolution of electronic music is the core concept of this Brand Identity.
The logotype was designed to reference the various levels of the club. Once entering the venue one must make your way up several different staircases which lead to the three, individually designed, dance floors.
